Will this be a sustainable development?
Berkeley Homes are currently leading the field on sustainability amongst the large scale development companies in the UK and at the Brunswick site will be delivering the first scheme in Cambridge to meet with Code for Sustainable Homes, Level 3. We are also currently exploring options to achieve a 16% renewable energy target, which is above the 10% required by Cambridge City Council.
The design team features many consultants with expertise in all aspects of environmental design, and negotiations have already been held with the local authority Sustainability Officer to ensure that the project is in line with the stringent, recently published Special Planning Guidance created by Cambridge City Council. The site itself is well positioned for access to the city centre, public transport and local amenities, and the design team will be ensuring the the project meets Sustainable Homes Code Level 3.
