Revised Access Strategy
All vehicular access to the development (with the exception of 7 visitor parking spaces for the Student Block) will be taken from the new access point onto Newmarket Road where Brunswick House is currently located.
Unlike many developers, Berkeley Homes not only consults with stakeholders but actually responds to these consultations. In this instance Berkeley listened carefully to the Riverside Residents' fears regarding traffic generation and loss of amenity. Despite the Highways Authority confirming the original proposed access was acceptable, Berkeley knew that the proposals were causing residents sleepless nights and resolved to address the issue. Going far beyond reasonable expectations or requirements, Berkeley acquired the adjacent Brunswick House site fronting Newmarket Road. This is a prime example of stakeholder consultation and community development at its very best.
